What Selah Now collects

• Your email address — used only to deliver your conversation transcript and manage your daily conversation. Never sold. Never shared with third parties.
• Your questions — processed in real time to generate responses. Your questions and answers are not saved in any database. The only record is the transcript forwarded to your email.
• Your optional reflection — used solely to improve the service and, only with your explicit permission, as an anonymous testimonial.

How your information is used

• To deliver your Selah Now responses and email your conversation transcript
• To manage the one-conversation-per-day policy, which may change without prior notice
• To contact you about Selah Now if you remain on the list

What Selah Now does not do

• Sell, rent, or share your email with any third party
• Store your questions or Selah Now's answers in any database
• Use your data for advertising or profiling
• Build a persistent memory or emotional profile of you

Voice feature

When voice responses are enabled, the text of Selah Now's response is converted to audio by ElevenLabs, Inc. in real time. Audio is streamed to your device and is not stored by us or by them for training.

Nothing third-party loads in your browser

Fonts, scripts and styles are served from this origin. There are no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no embedded social widget and no cookie. Opening this site discloses your IP address to nobody but the host that serves it.

Legal basis for processing

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you:

• Your email address is processed on the basis of your consent, given when you enter it to receive your transcript. You may withdraw that consent at any time, and withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.
• Your question and the response are processed on the basis of performance of a contract — you asked, and answering is the service.
• Security logging and abuse prevention rest on our legitimate interests in keeping the service available and unabused.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office; in the EU it is the supervisory authority of the member state where you live.

Data retention

• Your questions and answers — not written to any database in standard Selah Now use. They exist only for the duration of the request.
• Your email address — held until you ask for it to be deleted, or until you are removed from the list.
• Your transcript — held by our email provider only as long as delivery requires.
• Server logs — retained by our host on their standard schedule and not used to build any profile of you.

International transfers

Our processors operate in the United States. If you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, your information is transferred to and processed in the US. Those transfers rely on the processors' standard contractual clauses, and where available their certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Processors

• Anthropic — the reasoning itself.
• ElevenLabs — voice, only when you turn it on.
• Resend — delivering your transcript by email.
• Netlify — hosting and serverless functions.

Each is bound by a data processing agreement. None of them is permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

Do not sell or share

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act. There is no opt-out link because there is nothing to opt out of. California residents have the rights to know, delete, correct, and to non-discrimination for exercising them.

The Good Machine entry conversation

This section applies only if you are applying for membership of The Good Machine. It does not apply to standard use of Selah Now — if you came here to ask a question, nothing below happens to you.

An entry conversation begins on thegoodmachine.love, where the agreement and the consent are taken. It differs from ordinary use in four ways:

• The entry transcript is retained, from your first answer, so the application can be read, a failed email can be resent, and a conversation that is interrupted can be continued instead of started again. An ordinary conversation is never stored.
• While an entry conversation is open, the page tells this site's own server which step you reached — an answer shown, a reply sent, the page left — so a conversation that breaks can be found and fixed. It carries none of your words, and it is never sent anywhere else. Ordinary use sends nothing of the kind.
• A background summary is prepared about you from publicly available information tied to the name and email you gave, researched by Perplexity, synthesised by Claude, and screened against the OpenSanctions database.
• The resulting application record is held by The Good Machine — a separate organisation with its own governance — not by Selah Now as an ordinary user record.

Admission is decided by people, not by software. The system prepares, scores and recommends; a human council votes, and every ballot carries a name and a reason. The score is used internally by the council and is not sent to you; you receive your full transcript. You may ask for the assessment at any time.

You may see what was prepared about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for the whole record to be deleted. You may also decline the background summary before you begin. Delete my data

Enter the email address you used with Selah Now. Every record associated with it — your email address and any transcripts held in our delivery system — will be permanently deleted within 7 business days. You will receive one confirmation email when deletion is complete.
