There is one thing in this system nobody can turn off.

Not a licensee. Not an operator. Not us.

The Selah Floor · Version 1.0 · Effective September 2026 · Selah Now LLC

Every product in this category makes promises about safety. Promises can be revised. A promise that can be quietly revised under commercial pressure, at the request of a paying customer, is not a floor. It is a preference.

This is the floor.

What happens when it matters

A hard question gets a hard question taken seriously.

A crisis gets something else, and it gets it first.

No answer about the hard thing reaches you. What reaches you instead is one sentence and a number that can help you tonight — because at that moment a number is worth more than anything this system could say.

Selah Now is not a crisis service. A trained human is better equipped to support you right now.

That is not a feature. Features get deprecated. This is a floor.

Then the right number. Not every number.

Most systems, on detecting distress, hand you a wall. Every hotline they know, all at once. A person in the worst hour of their life does not need a directory. They need the one door built for them.

Selah Now sends one to three resources, matched to what the person is actually carrying. Never a dump.

A veteran reaches the Veterans Crisis Line. A trans caller reaches Trans Lifeline. A new mother reaches Postpartum Support International. Someone in a violent house reaches the National Domestic Violence Hotline. Someone being trafficked reaches a line that knows what to do about it.

Fourteen situations. Fourteen doors. Every one of them staffed by people trained for that specific thing.

Language coverage — and where it stops

Selah Now reasons in seven languages. The floor does not yet reach all seven, and this is where that stands.

Every situation above carries two destinations: a United States line, and a verified line in your own country. The first column is staffed in English. The second is staffed in whatever that country staffs it in, which we cannot promise is your language.

LanguageReasoningCrisis routing
EnglishYesFloor-complete. Fourteen situations, each with a line staffed for it
EspañolYesA verified line in your own country, matched to the situation. Answering language not guaranteed

PortuguêsYesA verified line in your own country, matched to the situation. Answering language not guaranteed
中文YesA verified line in your own country, matched to the situation. Answering language not guaranteed
KiswahiliYesA verified line in your own country, matched to the situation. Answering language not guaranteed

Six of the seven are still not floor-complete, and the reason is language, not geography. Every situation above now carries a second destination: a verified helpline in the person's own country, matched to the same situation, through a directory maintained daily by direct contact with the helplines themselves. That is a door rather than a place to start looking.

What it still does not promise is the language that answers. Those services are listed by country, not by the language they are staffed in. A Kiswahili speaker in Tanzania now reaches a Tanzanian line instead of a United States number — which is a great deal better, and is not the same as being answered in Kiswahili. Until we can say that sentence and mean it, the column above says Yes for reasoning and something more careful for the floor.

Coverage is also not universal. Some countries have no verified service listed at all. We would rather that be visible here than discovered by someone at two in the morning.

What the floor now tries, when the language is not English

It looks for a service that answers in that language — first where the person is, and then, if nobody there does, anywhere that can be reached from where they are.

That second step only ever offers chat or WhatsApp. A telephone number in another country is toll-free from that country and an international call from anywhere else, at the hour when a person can least afford to think about it. A number you cannot dial is not a floor, so we do not offer one and call it help.

The country is asked for. It is never taken from the connection. An address on a network says where that network comes out, not where a person is standing. Anyone on a VPN, anyone who has moved, anyone travelling, and anyone living in a country whose language is not their own would all be sent somewhere they cannot reach — and those are exactly the people this step exists for.

It is asked once, at the moment it decides something, and never on the way in. The answer is used for one lookup and kept nowhere.

Where none of that finds anything, the fourteen destinations above are still there. They are written into the page and into the code, they need no network, and nothing in this section can take them away.

Nobody in this category publishes where their safety net has holes. We are publishing ours because the alternative is a promise that is true in the reasoning and false underneath it, and because we require exactly this of anyone who licenses the system:

Your local crisis resources, if you serve anyone outside the United States. Our fourteen destinations are United States lines. We will not deploy to a population we cannot route correctly.

That is our own rule, and until this page existed we were not holding ourselves to it. The consent screen now tells you, in the language you selected, whether the floor reaches you before you begin.

Closing a gap the rest of the way means routing on the language a service answers in, not only the country it sits in, and having a person who speaks that language check the wording before it ships. Languages move out of this list one at a time, when that work is done — and the table above changes with them.

What we publish, and what we never will

We publish where it sends you. We do not publish what it listens for.

The detection is not described on this page, and Selah Now will not describe it if you ask the system directly. That is deliberate, and it is not about protecting a trade secret.

A protocol whose triggers are published is a protocol that can be steered around. The people most motivated to steer around it are exactly the people it exists to catch.

So the destinations are public and permanent. The door is not.

The commitment

The following language is published on selahnow.love and binds every organization that licenses this system:

This crisis routing protocol is immutable. It cannot be disabled, overridden, or altered by any licensing operator, business arrangement, or configuration. It is built into the architecture as a non-negotiable safeguard — not a feature that can be toggled off. Any organization licensing Selah Now receives this protocol intact and unchanged as a condition of that license.

A licensee may put their brand on this system. Their domain, inside their app, in front of their own people. They may not turn this off. It is a condition of the license, not a setting in a dashboard.

Take it

If you build an AI product that people bring their hard questions to, copy this.

Word for word. You do not need our permission and you do not owe us a citation. We would rather this became ordinary than remained ours.

What happens if we stop

This page says the floor cannot be turned off by a licensee, by an operator, or by us. The complete version of that sentence accounts for Selah Now itself.

A multi-generational foundation to own and operate Selah Now LLC and all associated responsibilities is currently being designed, for implementation in the event of the founder's departure or inability to continue. Estimated activation 17 May 2027. Today, Selah Now is operated by its founder, and that is stated openly on the page that asks organizations to rely on it.

What it costs us

Publishing this page costs something, and we want to be plain about what.

It means we can never quietly relax it. If a licensee someday offers real money to soften this, this page is the thing that stops us. We will have to say no in public, to a number, with this document sitting here.

That is the point of writing it down.

Where this sits in law

Four laws now govern conversational AI in the United States and Europe. Selah Now was built to satisfy all four before any of them required it.

California SB 243

In effect 1 January 2026. Requires operators to disclose that the system is not human, to maintain a protocol preventing the production of suicidal ideation, suicide, or self-harm content, and to publish the details of that protocol on the operator's website.

Selah Now discloses its non-human status at the gate, in the Terms, and on the page itself. The crisis protocol is published here in full — not summarized, published.

New York General Business Law, Article 47

In effect 5 November 2025. Governs systems that retain prior interactions to personalize engagement and sustain ongoing dialogue about a user's personal life.

Selah Now retains nothing. There is no memory between sessions, no profile, no personalization, and no mechanism designed to bring you back. The conversation ends and the record leaves with you. Selah Now meets the crisis-detection and disclosure duties of Article 47, and is built so that the engagement pattern the statute exists to police is not available to it.

Utah HB 452

In effect 7 May 2025. Requires clear disclosure before access, bars advertising inside a mental health chatbot, bars using anything you type to target or customize an ad, and bars sharing or selling identifiable health information or user input.

Selah Now carries no advertising of any kind. Your questions are never used for advertising or profiling, and are never sold or shared. There is no commercial arrangement anywhere that contradicts it.

EU AI Act, Article 50

Applies from 2 August 2026. Requires that people be informed they are interacting with an AI system, and that synthetic content be marked in a machine-readable format.

Selah Now states what it is before you can begin, and every email it sends carries both a plain-English AI disclosure and a machine-readable marker identifying the content as AI-generated and not reviewed by a human before delivery.

Every one of these is verifiable from this page. None of it is a promise about the future.

Why the conversation ends

Five exchanges. Then it ends.

Not because you ran out. Because an answer you carry out of the room is worth more than a conversation that never lets you leave.

Everything else in this category is built to bring you back tomorrow. Streaks. Notifications. A system that remembers you and says so. Selah Now is built to let go of you on purpose.

Your transcript is yours. The conversation renews tomorrow, free, because you should not have to pay to think.

What this is not

If you are in crisis right now

This is not a crisis service. It is a floor under a reasoning tool, not a substitute for a trained human being.

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — call or text 988.
Crisis Text Line — text HOME to 741741.
Outside the U.S. — findahelpline.com, which loads your country automatically.

Selah Now is not therapy, medical advice, or legal counsel. It never has been and it is not becoming one.

For organizations

Chaplaincy programs. Employee assistance providers. Counseling centers. Faith organizations. Platforms that carry the responsibility for what an AI says to their people at 2 a.m.

Licensed or full white label. Your brand, your domain, inside your platform. The full four-layer architecture. The floor comes with it, intact, and cannot be removed.

The price, the clause and the refusals are published. You can qualify yourself before you speak to anyone.
